About Me
"Pay attention to the things you are naturally drawn to. They are often connected to your path, passion, and purpose in life. Have the courage to follow them." - Ruben Chavez
My name is Spencer Floberg. I grew up in the community of Richardton, ND, but I spent the early parts of my life in Grand Forks, ND. I graduated from high school in 2015, and thought that my life's journey was already set in stone. I knew I always wanted to help people in some way, but I did not know how to quite yet. I spent my first two years of college studying to become a Physical Therapist, but after some reflection I figured out that was not my calling. It was not until I had conversations with my family, and gained a job coaching basketball that I figured out what I wanted to do. Athletics and physical activity have always been very present in my life, and after realizing that I have a lot to bring to the table in that setting, I knew exactly what I wanted to do.
I was hired to coach sixth grade boys basketball at Simle Middle School in 2018. I immediately fell in love with the process of helping kids better themselves both on and off the court, and knew that education was for me. I reflected on past experiences and the people that affected me the most in a positive way were my teachers and coaches. This idea has exploded into numerous coaching jobs and teaching experiences. I am currently completing my Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education with a double major in Coaching and Sport Studies, and a minor in Health Education.
