Diversity Experiences
Cultural Diversity & Human Relations Class & Practicum
This experience allowed me to walk a mile in someone else's shoes. Diversity goes way beyond what we see and requires us to dig deeper. This was evident when I went to St. Bernard's Mission School on the Standing Rock Reservation in Fort Yates. However, due to the pandemic, we were unable to go inside. Although, we did go participate in the yearly Day of Service, where we helped clean up the whole mission and were able to gain insight on what it means to teach to a culture that is not our own. If we are to know each other's story, we must from each other, which is what education is all about.

Adapted Physical Education Class
I participated in the Adapted PE class, taught by Mrs. Leah Wheeling. This class taught a lot about how to adapt lessons for certain people of certain needs. Also, it helped me gain strategies to help make sure that all of the students in every class are getting the most out of the content, and are having fun doing it. |
